Public Access Defribrillator

 Pre-Requisites:

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification. Copies of Pre-Requisites must be uploaded/attached as part of the application process.

Description:
The Public Access Defibrillator course offered at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute is in accordance with Second Chance CPR. This course is designed to meet industry business and government requirements. Public Access Defibrillator is a modular course for those who want to learn how to operate an external defibrillator. This course focuses on the use of the public access defibrillators in managing cardiac arrests. Knowledge and skills in this course are taught in a lecture style setting and reinforced and tested during practical training. A written test will be completed at the end of the course.

Legal Elements of Public Access Defibrillator
Emergency Scene Management
Adult and Child CPR
Operation of Defibrillator
Adult and Child Choking
This certification is valid for a period of one year.

Objectives:
This course is designed to give students the ability to correctly operate a defibrillator during a cardiac arrest emergency. This course enhances the safety and survivability of the general public.

Course Duration: 4 Hours

Course Hours: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

FEE: Payment must be made when registering for courses. We reserve the right to cancel seven days prior to any course in which the minimum registration is not achieved.
