NFPA 472 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT COMMANDER

Pre-Requisites:

NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Operational Level Certification. Copies of Pre-Requisites must be uploaded/attached as part of the application process.

Description:
This course is designed to provide the Incident Commanders with the knowledge and skills to perform the role of a Hazardous Material's Incident Commander. The candidates will learn about identifying the problem, hazard assessment, and risk evaluation, selection of personal protective clothing and equipment, information management and resource coordination, implementing response objectives, decontamination, terminating the Incident and the overall tactics and strategies to properly mitigate a hazardous materials incident. This is done through a combination of theoretical classes and tabletop exercises.

Objectives:
The purpose of this course is to specify, in terms of performance objectives, the minimum requirements for professional service as a responder to hazardous materials incidents. This course shall cover the requirements for the Hazardous Materials Incident Commander level of progression

Course Duration: 5 days

Course Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All manuals required for the program are supplied, and must be returned upon completion of the program, they are available for purchase if desired.
