Fireworks Certification for (AHJ’s) Authority Having Jurisdiction

Note: This course is restricted to OMFPOA members ONLY

Course description: What local authorities need to know about fireworks in Canada
Fireworks are available in almost all municipalities across Canada. The local authority (i.e. the fire department) plays an important role in ensuring the safety of the public from the potential hazards that fireworks can present. This full day course includes an overview and discussion about the different types of fireworks; the rules regarding the sale of consumer fireworks in stores; and the use of professional fireworks/pyrotechnics in Canada.  Course attendees will also learn how to review firework/pyrotechnic event applications so they can feel more confident in their decision in the permitting process.
